We're gonna win Tigers?! Delmon's gonna score.

For a very brief period (i.e. this week), I can proudly say that I am big Detroit Tigers fan.  Thank you Tigers and Delmon Young for beating the Yankees last night. Yankees - how does it feel to be first round losers for once?  Not so great, huh?  Maybe you should increase your already massive payroll....

Bye, bye Delmon.

Oh happy day.  The Twins have finally done something right; they traded Delmon Young to Detroit. His hitting this season has not been terrible - right now .266 which puts him on-par with the rest of the team this season.  His fielding, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired.  He is slow, misjudges the ball way too often, and phones it in out there left.  I, for one, am thankful that I won't have to sit through another home game watching Delmon misread a ball off the wall and tubby toddle his way over to it.  Or at least now I won't have to watch him do it in a Twins uniform.

Stupid Human of the Day

Another idiot baseball fan risking life and limb for a home run ball.  And this time it happened at the Home Run Derby, where catching a ball means nothing.  Good work buddy.

Thank you, Nick Blackburn.

After sitting through a really really painful Twins game on Monday (weather was great, seats were amazing, Twins hitting was solid, Twins pitching, especially closers were HORRIBLE), last night's game was a real treat to watch.  Nick Blackburn pitched a full game for the win. Thank you, Nick Blackburn.  The rest of your fellow pitchers could learn a thing or two from you.

Twins win! I win!

In a triumphant act of teamwork, my husband and I secured not 1 ticket, but 4 lower level tickets to the MN Twins 2011 home opener.  Hopefully this opener will be like last year's - sunny, crisp, victorious.

Question: What is more important than the Super Bowl?

Answer: Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl

Check out their starting line-up.

Oliver.

Charlie.

Little Red.

Maddie.

Lindy.

Timberpups.

Star Tribune columnist Jim Souhan just posed the following question: Will the Wolves ever matter again? To this, I am sorry to answer, No.  Let's trade the entire team and bring mini-horse racing to the Twin Cities.

Bye bye Nicky Punto.

The MN Twins 2011 season is shaping up to be a good one.  First, we traded Jesse Crain to the Eden Prairie High School Girls Fast Pitch Softball team.  Then, we re-signed Jim Thome.  And now, the icing on my MN Twins Baby Jesus cake: It's looking like we will soon be Punto-free.  Though I am a fan of his cat-like defensive maneuvering, and his ability to some how land a great salary for mediocre play, I will be pretty excited to see him sliding into another team's first base head first next season.
